Mexican Flavor Grilled Steak

Preparation Time: 110 min | Cooking Time: 120 min | Serves: 4

Grill Party BBQ® Carne Asada Seasoning enhances the flavor of this delicious Mexican-style grilled steak. It complements tacos, burritos, and even salads.

STEP ONE: ORDER GRILL PARTY BBQ® CARNE ASADA SEASONING

STEP TWO: MARINADE YO’ MEAT

  • In a small bowl, combine Salt and Carne Asada Seasoning. Evenly distribute the mixture over both sides of the steaks.
  • Refrigerate the steaks, uncovered, for at least 45 minutes or up to 24 hours on a wire rack set in a rimmed baking sheet.

STEP THREE: GRILLIN’ TIME

  • OPEN THE BOTTOM VENT COMPLETELY FOR A CHARCOAL GRILL. Fill a large chimney starter with charcoal briquettes (6 quarts). Place a disposable pan collar in the center of the grill over the bottom vent when the top coals are partially covered with ash and pour coals into an even layer in the collar. Install the cooking grate, cover, and completely open the lid vent. Heat the grill for about 5 minutes.
  • FOR A GAS GRILL: Preheat all burners to high, cover, and wait 15 minutes for the grill to heat up. Turn all of the burners to high.
  • Clean and oil the cooking grate.
  • Cook, uncovered, until well browned on the first side, 2 to 4 minutes (if using charcoal, arrange steaks over coals in collar).
  • 2 to 4 minutes longer, flip steaks and cook until well browned on the second side and meat registers 130 degrees.
  • Transfer steaks to a carving board and tent loosely with aluminum foil for 5 minutes.

STEP FOUR: SERVE IT UP

  • Rub the garlic all over one side of the steaks.
  • Serve steaks in 1/4-inch thick slices against the grain with lime wedges…
