Mouth-Watering Memphis Dust Rub Pork

Preparation Time: 15 min | Cooking Time: 15 min  |  Additional Time: 4 hrs 10 min | Serves: 2 to 3

This recipe makes an excellent all-purpose pork rub. It is perfectly formulated for Grill Party BBQ® Blackening Spice Seasoning and forms the proper crust when cooked at low temperatures. You can try it on chicken, fish, and vegetables too.

STEP ONE: ORDER GRILL PARTY BBQ® BLACKENING SPICE SEASONING

STEP TWO: RIBS COAT

  • In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine all of the ingredients. If the sugar is lumpy, crumble it by hand or with a fork on the side of the bowl.
  • Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 225°F/107.2°C to remove moisture. There is no hotter or sugar that can burn.
  • Add ½ tsp of Morton Coarse Kosher Salt per pound/453.6 grams of meat up to 12 hours ahead of time.
  • Apply the rub in a thick enough layer to form a crunchy crust. As the old adage goes, ‘keep your powder dry.’ To avoid cross-contamination, sprinkle the rub with one hand and rub with the other. Do not rub your hand into the powder or use it to hold the bottle.
